k9 Rescue Adoption Process
Our adoption process involves the following:
- Coming into our office to meet our friendly office volunteers
- Filling out an Adoption Questionnaire.
Our adoption questionnaire is used to help you choose a dog that would be suited to you, your home, and your lifestyle. The adoption questionnaire must be filled out before viewing the dogs. Before adopting any dog we will need to see that you have rental permission if you rent.
- Viewing the dogs in the kennel.
Once you’ve filled in the questionnaire one of our friendly kennel volunteers will show you around the kennels. We have kennel cards for each dog to give you a bit of information about them. Our kennel staff are dedicated to finding the right home that is compatible to you and your lifestyle, and will do whatever we can to make sure you get the right dog.
- Doggie Meet and Greet
Once you have found a potential companion you can have a meet up in one of our yards. It is important that everyone in your household meets the dog to make sure everyone gets along.
If you currently have a dog we will also need do a match up with them and any dog you are interested in. Before we do this we will need to see your dog’s vaccination records. It is usually best to come down and have look around first, then organise a time to bring your dog down to do a match up.
K9 Rescue can have up to 40 dog on the premises. Choosing a dog with the right temperament and energy level to suit you and your dog’s needs is important for a successful match up. Our qualified trainer will help with this process.
It is possible that when you get here the dog that you are interested in has been adopted. We do have plenty of other dogs here, so we still may have the perfect one for you
k9 Adoption Fees
Our adoption fees are:
- Dogs: $430
- Dogs over 8 Years: $330
- Puppies: $550
- Bonded pairs: $660
The adoption fee helps cover the vet work, as well as the cost of food and care while in our kennels. All dogs at K9 Rescue are vet checked, sterilized, vaccinated, microchipped, de-wormed and flea treated. SENIORS discount applies to all prices.
